Valera Maier
Born in 1938, died in 2019, his first ascent was made in 1961. He climbed Ushba, Elbrus, Dalar, Shkhara, Mizhergi, Korona, Marble wall, Lenin, Pobeda, Korzhenevskaya, Kommunism and many other peaks.
Valery has collected a unique photo archive, containing thousands of photos on films. He managed to make rare shots with medium format camera during first ascent of a new route on Pobeda peak. Our Mount.photo project based on Valery’s photo archive.

Alex Epstine
Born in 1968, his first ascent was made in 1983. He climbed Ushba, Elbrus, Dalar, Han-Tengri, Korzhenevskaya, Kommunism and other peaks.
Worked as a war reporter. Alexander is a founder and manager of Mount.photo project.
